Lily Allen as Amy Winehouse on Friday Night Project

I think I’ve vaguely heard of this comedy show called “Friday Night Project”–which is essentially the British version of Saturday Night Live, but with only 2 comedians (Justin and Alan) and the celebrity host. Miss Lily Allen was recently on the program where she portrayed Miss Amy “Won’t go to Rehab” Winehouse–beehive, tat sleeves, and all. Check out the end of the first video and the start of the second. Thanks to MV and HT for the links.

And for the rest of the program:

The Reason Why Jack White Makes Jo Whiley Slightly Uncomfortable

Last week the White Stripes did a very special Live Lounge performance on Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley’s show. But that cheeky Scott Mills decided he would reveal the reason why Jo Whiley doesn’t like interviewing the White Stripes. It has nothing to do with them as people, or their music (she is in fact a big fan), but it has more to do with an uncomfortable “awareness”.

Download/listen to the blush-worthy explanation…

Listen/see fantastic coverage of their Live Lounge appearance as well as a 45-minute set they did for Zane Lowe’s show over at the Radio 1 website. It’s pretty darn sweet–audio, video, and photos.

Spinal Tap Reunite to Fight Global Warming

“Marty DiBergi recruits Nigel, David and Derek to reunite to play Live Earth on July 7, 2007 at Wembley Stadium in London. This is a new film directed by Rob Reiner which premiered on April 25, 2007 at the Opening Night of the Tribeca Film Festival.”

Bob “Weird Man” Dylan Scares Grandson’s Kindergarten Class

You cannot make this stuff up:

Los Angeles, CA (BANG) – Bob Dylan reportedly scared the children at his grandson’s kindergarten after treating the class to a live show.

The “It Ain’t Me Babe” singer has allegedly been dubbed the “weird man” by children in the class, in the Los Angeles suburb Calabas, where his son Jakob Dylan’s child attends.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: “The kids have been coming home and telling their parents about the weird man who keeps coming to class to sing scary songs on his guitar.

“He’s been visiting the school just for fun, but the kids don’t appreciate they are in the presence of a musical legend. They just think of him as the weird guitar guy.”

Dylan is currently touring Europe on his “Never Ending Tour.” He plays at Berlin’s Max-Schmeling-Halle on Friday night.

Ricky Gervais to Take Over TriPAC

Couldn’t get a ticket to see everyone’s favorite Office boss live in action as part of the David Bowie-curated H&M High Line Festival? Have no fear–Ricky will be doing another NYC gig, the day before on May 18th at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. (Some of you may remember TriPAC as the location of the fantastic Wall Street Rising concert series in 2005.)

Get your grubby little hands on tickets by logging onto Ticketmaster at 12 noon this Friday.

Funny or Die: Will Ferrell in “The Landlord”

I’m not exactly sure how long this site, Funny or Die has been around, but it sure is usefully for killing time.

Check out this amazingly funny video, “The Landlord” featuring Will Ferrell, long-time co-writing (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) and directing buddy Adam McKay, and Adam’s daughter Pearl, as the “nasty” landlord of the building. You might piss your pants laughing.
