We are happy to report our friends Lindsay and Jason both got shoutouts in this year’s Village Voice Best of 2004. We like that Lindsay is officially a “character” and Jason was described as specifically NOT being a “scenester.”
In other awesome news, Ultragrrrl has become a record label called Stolen Transmission.
We found this on someone’s LiveJournal:
“…i also read about miss modernage in the village “best of” issue. ever run into her?…”
“Miss Modern Age is ok. My friend [NAMEWITHHELD] knows her and says she is lametacular. I like the website ok, but she likes a lot of shitty bands too. I don’t know her personally though. Scenester is not a bad description, cause it doesn’t have all that positive a connotation. But kudos on getting in the voice.”
We’d like to confirm the validity of this statement and add that sources close to us have also referred to Miss Modernage as being “retardorific,” “stupidendous,” and “morontastic.” Oh yeah, and practically geriatric.
A big awshucksthanks to Mad Orange Fools for the linkage!
And thanks to Rabbit blog (a GREAT read!). I’ll be sure to try to avoid these pitfalls… Early-twenties mistakes… I’ll fail miserably. Link from Mad Orange Fools (see above).
Suprise! New layout. I was bored last night. Sorta harks back to some of my previous designs circa London 2000.
Check out Nick’s new layout, if you already haven’t.
I heart Quarlo and Frankie Boots. Brilliant mix of images and sounds. Link to Quarlo from You Look Good In Black. Link to Frankie from Quarlo.
