Jack White to Release Vinyl Live Album of Conan O’Brien

As you may have heard, last night Conan O’Brien did an intimate 300-person gig in Nashville, TN at Third Man Records, with Jack White joining in for the encore.

According to the post on Conan’s site, the entire concert was taped reel to reel so it could be pressed into a black and blue vinyl recording that would only be available to be sold to the folks that were at the show for a mere $20:

But the BEST part of the night was that the whole thing was being recorded on a reel to reel tape! Why reel to reel? Because tonight’s performance is going to be pressed into a record that people at the show could buy! Say it with me, party people: HOLY CRAP. What that also meant for the show was that halfway through, Conan & the band had to stop for a few minutes so that the reel could be changed! SO COOL.

Even if you weren’t one of the lucky few to get into the gig, you can still get your grubby little hands on a copy of the album, which is currently available for pre-order on the Third Man Records website. ONLY the folks who were at the show will receive the black and blue vinyl version. The album will ship in July.

In addition to the live LP, Third Man has also just announced that O’Brien recorded a spoken word Green Series 7” to be released by Third Man in the near future.

More bits about the show, there were commemorative t-shirts being sold with the Third Man Records logo men sporting swooshy red hairdos (natch) and “CONAN Third Man Records – June 10 2010” on the back.

The lucky guy from We Listen for You caught one of Conan’s guitar picks, which was printed with “TEAM CONAN.” Awesome!
