i think the video is good.
the idea is good.
and also the technique.
i don't think that videos are make for entertainment, they should just be some visual art that accompaign a song.

i think the attention spare problem (as michelle pointed before) is the reason of all this reactions.

slow down.

Some interesting leads over here: http://blogs.indiewire.com/mattdentler/archives/013903.html

REALLY reminiscent of R.E.M.'s "Imitation of Life" video by Garth Jennings, but not nearly as cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEhT2QlRBMo

more on the possible technique used over here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imitation_of_Life_(song): "The entire video took twenty seconds to shoot. What you're watching is a loop that goes forwards for twenty seconds, backwards for twenty seconds, forwards for twenty seconds, backwards for twenty seconds [Mills, sitting on Stipe's right, sways left to right accordingly as the frontman illustrates his point], with one camera, static, and then using a technique called 'pan and scan', which is a technical thing that is used when they go from a widescreen format and reformat to fit your television or DVD, moving in on certain parts of the entire picture. And you'll see that we do that picking up various people within the frame."

i don't dispute the fact that the video was probably very technically difficult to do, and I appreciate that the band chose to do something "different" (I generally hate straight performance videos), but I think this video falls flat of its ambitious goals. Has anyone found articles about the ideas behind this video? I'm curious as to why THOSE people and why are they played in different orders? It seems like the background 3 people are being played forward, then halfway through they are played backwards and the girl is being played forward the whole time.
