See This Drowsy Kid All Growns Up Next Month at Webster Hall

February 1, 2007

in britrock, music

Can you guess which famous pop star this glassy-eyed youngster would grow up to be? Does the mop-top of flaxen hair remind you of anyone? What about the lackadaisical grin and droopy looking blue eyes?

glazyyyyyyyyy

Need a hint? Let’s face it, this kid looks drunk and/or on drugs. No doubt his vision was probably blurry–even at this young age.

Still don’t know who it is?

Yeah you do…it’s Blur/Gorillaz front man, Damon Albarn!

He’s got a (new) side-band, and they are called The Good, The Bad, and The Queen. Other band members are Paul Simonon, Simon Tong, and Tony Allen. I swiped the above photo from their new official site…and they JUST announced a string of American tour dates today. Tickets for the March 12th Webster Hall show in NYC go on sale Feb 7th and noon.

i am so there! i’ve had it written in my calendar for the last couple of days.
i just finally got the album last night (i decided to wait out an extra couple of days in order to get the uk edition with the dvd) and i am completely emotionally overwhelmed. the album is amazing, it makes me incredibly happy and at the same time i just wanna cry, i don’t know whether it’s because i’m sad or happy. there is just something in damon’s voice that makes my life flash in front of my eyes, to see what i have accomplished and what i haven’t. it totally sounds like a cross between blur and gorillaz. i can’t imagine listening to a different album for at least the next week or so!
