Alicia Keys Responds to Bob Dylan’s Creepy Comments

By now you’ve probably heard about Bob Dylan’s comments about Alicia Keys, in “On Thunder on the Mountain,” the opening song off his latest album, Modern Times, where he sings “I was thinking ’bout Alicia Keys, I couldn’t keep from crying/While she was born in Hell’s Kitchen, I was livin’ down the line…” And then in an interview with Rolling Stone he commented, “There’s nothing about that girl I don’t like.”

In an interview with the Observer, Keyes responds:

“I’ve never met him. It was mind-blowing. I couldn’t quite believe it. He’s a person that’s seen so many things and been a part of music for so long. For him to give a shit about me is pretty exciting. I like it.”

And another interesting twist, John Mayer was the one who told her about the name check. WTF?

“I could not believe it. The first person who told me was John Mayer. He said, ‘You’re never gonna believe this, but I just heard that Dylan has your name in his song.’ What? I was totally not expecting it but then I couldn’t wait to hear it.”
