[...] HOW I HEARD ABOUT THEM: I randomly caught his set when I was at the Iceland Airwaves festival in 2006 LATEST RELEASE: Romantic [CD Single] SONG LISTENED TO: “Wanna Be a Star” [MP3] WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE: Dancy synth pop, blah blah blah. Like LCD Soundsystem (but not trying as hard to be cool) or The Rapture. Surprisingly sweet and down-to-earth vocals. They were pretty awesome fun live. THUMB UP OR DOWN?: Up OTHER BLOGS THAT HAVE TALKED ABOUT THEM: Music Glob, Largehearted Boy, Ornery LISTEN TO MORE: “Through a Keyhole” [MP3], Myspace [...]

[...] NOTE: This is the first part in my much delayed “who knows how long this is going to take” series on my concert-going experience at the Iceland Airwaves festival this year in Reykjavik (yes, I finally learned how to spell it without looking it up), Iceland.
[...] Hi everyone. I’ve been kinda lame with the updates ever since my trip to Iceland. I’ve been totally backlogged. I haven’t read any emails in the last three weeks, I’m skipping out on just about all the CMJ events going on here in New York City in the next few days. I didn’t even bat an eye when I saw William Beckett at the MTVU Woodies last week. (I was too busy live blogging and then rushing home to get some zzzs.) I haven’t even had time to listen to the new My Chemical Romance album! That’s how crazy it’s been. [...]

nice blog - my girl and i went to the festival last year (where i took that art museum post-party shot you favorited on flickr).
to all other commentors: GO! it's fantastic... the vibe is so much better than the other big festivals; more like rock and roll summer camp than the industry circle-jerk at CMJ, etc.
one tip to future festival-goers: i'd highly recommend renting a 4x4 and driving yourself and a few friends on the golden circle - you can set your own pace, get out whenever you want to take pictures and explore, and there are a lot 4x4 only roads that are a blast to drive and take you way up into the scenery.

Calling this post informative is an understatement. If I somehow have the cash next year, I may just use the money to go there now as opposed to Roskilde in the summer.
Thanks!

Sounds like a great festival. It's probably about the furthest distance in the world away from Sydney though. Oh well.

AWESOME.

So glad you are back though.

I saw the pic with Tuborg and got a sudden wave of nostalgia for Scandanavia. That is some good beer. Hope you drank (er sipped) some.
