What to Do: Panic! + Bloc Party vs. Raconteurs + Dylan

God just hit me with a double whammy. Panic! at the Disco will open up for headline and have Bloc Party open at the Theater at MSG on November 13-14. The Raconteurs will open up for music legend Bob Dylan on November 13th at Nassau Coliseum.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Rac/Dylan on Monday, Panic/Bloc Party on Tuesday? Hoooollyyyy crap!

Rest of the Raconteur dates: Thu 11/9 Portland ME Cumberland County Civic Center Sat 11/11 Boston MA Agganis Arena Sun 11/12 Boston MA Agganis Arena Mon 11/13 Uniondale NY Nassau Coliseum Wed 11/15 Amherst MA Univ. of MA Mullins Center Thu 11/16 East Rutherford NJ Continental Airlines Fri 11/17 Fairfax VA Patriot Center Sat 11/18 Philadelphia PA Wachovia Spectrum

It is a great thing that Bloc Party is playing that show. Regardless of what you think of them not playing for their fans or whatever. But this shouldn’t be a question. Bloc Party will be playing much smaller places than MSG in the near future (when a new album comes out) and Bob won’t be playing forever. What is there to decide? If you’re a fan of The Raconteurs and Dylan there there shouldn’t be anything to decide. Plus the possibility of Jack sitting in with Bob on a song or two is extremely likely.

a.d. — the show is at msg theatre, not msg arena. max capacity is only about 5000 or so. bloc party can do a venue that size on their own i would think. they’ve sold out roseland in the past and that’s 3500… i think this tour is more about trying to get bloc party appealing to a younger, untapped audience.

i wouldn’t waste a dime to see dylan at an arena…his voice ain’t what it used to be. rather catch the racs in a smaller venue (i am looking forward to house of blues in atlantic city!)

You haven’t seen Dylan right? In that case I suggest you definetly check him out. But be warn Dylan is old and no the best in concert anymore. With that said I am probably going to go to both Nassau and East Rutherford.

I saw Dylan about a year or two at the Cains. He was pretty good. Although he did only play slide and piano.
