The Killers’ “When You Were Young”

July 16, 2006

in music

I finally got around to listening to the whole song…will you hate me if I say that it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be? It sounds like so many other things, but I just can’t place what the influences are. That’s because it’s way too late for me to be up.

You can probably find the full song somewhere on l’internet…

Song is amazing and the influence is Springsteen….hands down…especially the “devil’s water part”…..

the killers travelled to NJ, broke into springsteen’s studio, lifted a b side from his born to run outakes, grew mustaches and released the song as a single.

Personally, I’m repulsed by the success of The Killers.

Meatloaf+Bruce, what a horrible thought but produced an amazing result, classic, will be a massive hit.
