thanks for that nytimes article. i’ve seriously considered being a guide/travel writer but that article made me think about the negatives. i didn’t realise the pay was shit. well actually knowing me i’d still do it even if the pay is next to nothing, although i would not enjoy being mugged by burly men and then being mugged by the police who are there to save me. hmmm
