It's weird how we all noticed that. hmm... :/

OMG, you people are retarded!

First things first, to all the Christians who are making out like this is an attack on Christianity whilst other religions don't receive the same treatment, you might want to read what other people are saying - that they would prefer to not have anything religious forced upon them. Also, those who have this opinion aren't evil, they just enjoy the benefits of secularism. Secondly, the more important issue should be the horrific junk produced by Forever21, which should discourage anyone with senses from shopping there. Thirdly, why do peopel on this thread jump to so many incorrect conclusions. Do you all struggle with reading, or is it that you are so caught up in your own "correct" beliefs that you don't care?

Lastly, to the person who tried to make a comparison between this and the Holocaust. I think you should really get repenting that sin because God, in whatever form, probably wont allow idiotic scum like you in his heaven.

As a devout Atheist, I do get slightly irritated with such propaganda as this, especially living in the "Bible Belt" of the south. However, I am tolerant of others' beliefs and support what they choose to print on their own merchandise and packaging. I think it is rather sad, though, that there are many posts on this blog proclaiming the superiority of the Christian faith and how someone is "finally standing up for what is right". I see nothing wrong with taking pride in one's beliefs, but to say that a practicer of another religion or a non-believer is leading a "messed-up life" and that they will ultimately be judged and condemned by your all-loving god? Where is the love in that? Yet I am the sinner because I choose to believe what can actually be proven. The Old and New Testament are contradictory to science, have myths and dates used thousands of years prior to the writing that have been borrowed from previous polytheistic beliefs, and one of the names given as a witness to confirm the authenticity has long been proven as false.

I think that it's great that Forever 21 promotes the owner's faith and that the owner stands for something. I also think that part of the objective in putting John 3:16 on the bottom of their bags is being fulfilled on this site...dialog and further thought about the message contained in John 3:16.

I also find it interesting that Christian verses and references to Jesus cause such discomfort and even anger in social settings but those same refs regarding other major religions are met with tolerance. That has intrigued me for many years...why do you think that is??

Believing in your religion is in no way arrogance. If you felt so strong about something, you would want to share it with other people too. I totally disagree with you, Ali.

There are over 4200 religions in this world--I've never understood the arrogance of believing yours is the right one. Is your god an arrogant god? Or if there is a god do you think that maybe that power would be tolerant of the those who believe one of the 4199 other religions? I understand tolerance, and though I do no support christianity, I understand that some people need it and yes, I shamefully admit I still shop at forever21. But please, don't think that we are a christian nation. "Under God" and "In God we trust" weren't added to this country until the 50s. We are a diverse country. It is this arrogance that makes the rest of the world hate us.

Im leaving this reply in hope that some of you non-believers will just listen a sec. Not all Christians beat people over the head with a bible, I have met some. Yes, there are very few Christians who will just listen to someone and listen why they believe the way they do and ask them questions before telling them how wrong they are. But there are some. I am one of them. I am totally devoted to Jesus, I have been a Christian all my life, but I am not going to try to convert someone on the spot. Printing John 3:16 on the bottom of a bag is the owners choice, an outward symbol of his belief in the bible. If that offends you, DONT SHOP THERE!
Yes, I said it. It's that simple. I pray that those of you who are offended will take advantage of the oppurtunity to just hear about Christ one day,as Im sure you will.

I am amazed at the vapidity of some of the posts here and thrilled by the thoughtfulness of others.

So, I'll add my stupidity here.

Forever21 is privately held, but operates within our capitalist system. I don't know what the opinions of their founders, owners, and management team is vis a vis religion, but, I'd hazard a guess that it's Christian, based on the John 3:16 label and some of the Christian clothing they supposedly sell (based on another post here).

They have made a business decision to promote their religion in a fairly unobtrusive manner on their bags. So what? Atheists, Buddhists, Muslims, Satanists, Wiccans etc, are free to shop elsewhere if they find this offensive. But, make no mistake, in addition to a small amount of proselityzing, this is a business decision. Inasmuch as it influences the Christian shopper (I freely admit that now that I see this, I am more likely to shop there), it's good business for them. If it alienates a few non-Christians (or even a few Christians), they have decided it's worth the risk.

In our economic system, there can be no better judge of the wisdom of this decision than the marketplace. You vote with your dollars. I can see no better way to make these decisions.

They have no inherent obligation to promote any religion whatsoever, and, in promoting one, in our society and under our laws, they have no obligation to promote any other.

Would it make good business sense to provide some inspiring versus from other religious texts? Maybe. Maybe not?

For some reason, I don't see the massive Muslim community in this country flocking to Forever21 for their stylish Burkhas.

If you all want to see what life is like in a theocracy, where these kinds of decisions are made by the government, maybe you would have enjoyed life in the Taliban controlled Afghanistan, or in Saudi Arabia, Iran, or some of our enlightened friends in The Sudan. Maybe you'd like to live in a country where naming a stuffed animal Muhammad can lead to your death for blasphemy.

Be thankful you live in the most tolerant, most free, and most prosperous nation in the world. If you choose to avoid Forever21, so be it.
