[...] I think you’d be hard pressed to find an album with more unique and specific point of view of the world than the Monkeys’ first album–and to top it all off, they’re not even old enough to drink. It is for these reasons that I have to crown Whatever People Say I Am… as being the number one album of 2006. RELATED CONCERT REVIEW: The Arctic Monkeys, Webster Hall, NYC.
[...] The vibe was upbeat, but not frantic. After having a frenzied and head-smacking experience at the Arctic Monkeys show at Webster Hall two weeks ago it was nice to be at a concert where I wasn’t in fear of death by stampede. The crowd was nice (however, the security people seemed a bit cranky at the rate they were flashing lights into the crowd and yelling at folks taking pictures) and I had a good time. I fully recommend checking the band out if they come to your town. [...]

[...] Yup, I said it…I used the term “Peengate” while talking about Fall Out Boy on Jo Whiley’s show Tuesday morning. You can listen to the broadcast over at the Radio 1 site. Click on “Tuesday” and you should hear me talking about dodgeball, bling rings, Arctic Monkeys, and “Peengate” an hour and 40 minutes into the broadcast. [...]

saw the young chaps last night in DC - considering how much good natured moshing was going on they were really distant - didn't seem like they were having any fun. Also, the last celebrity I ever thought I would see at this show - Lance Armstrong - who watched the whole show from the VIP balcony.

That wasn't a football chant, whatever that is. We were politely requesting that they play the song Chun Li's Spinning Bird Kick, off of one of their ep's, by simply chanting "Chun Li."

I totally second your thoughts on Spinto Band. Saw these guys in Chicago and their "headbobbing" was really annoying... Worse than the Patridge family...

Arctic Monkeys kicked ass in Chicago as well...
