“15 Minutes” Really Only 4:32 Minutes

A new Strokes song has leaked on l’Internet. It’s called “15 Minutes of Pain” and it sounds like a cross between the Velvet Underground (first half), The Walkmen (Hamilton-like screaming) and some power pop band like All-American Rejects or something like that (second half). Initially, it seems to be leaving listeners…confused. Thanks to B. for the heads up.

UPDATE: Apparently the original link on the post isn’t working anymore, so go here.

Apparently the song is just called “15 Minutes” and someone added the “of pain” as a joke because they didn’t like it. On the official tracklisting it’s just listed as 15 Minutes. The tracklisting:

    You Only Live Once
    Juicebox
    Heart in a Cage
    Razor Blade
    One the Other Side
    Electricityscape
    Killing Lies
    Fear of Sleep
    15 Minutes
    Vision of Division
    Red Light
    Evening Sun
    The Ize of the World
    Ask Me Anything

This is the song. Can you dig it? I bought First Impressions of Earth and was furious that It wasn’t like the first record. I guess in a shallow kind of way, I just wanted more of the same. Well I got it 2:00 into track 11. Just like that the strokes were back. And In a way I was back to where I started in 2001. Except now I got this rash. Ouch.
