Remember how we kept hearing about this book of photos of The Strokes’ Nick Valensi that Amanda was going to publish…but to the best of my knowledge it never came out? Well apparently someone is actually threatening to come out with a book of Amanda DeCadenet pictures, and the title is Rare Birds. Judging from the teaser pictures on the publishers site, not only does Valensi appear, but so do Fab and Drew. Publisher’s site says will be released September 30. Amazon says August 15. I say, never. Link from Strokes LJ.
In other news, can someone send me the following cover versions of Strokes songs?:
Jeffrey Lewis, “The Modern Age”; The Detroit Cobras, “Last Nite”; Royal City, “Is This It”

That has to be the most ridiculous bio on Amanda ever. UGH. It’s funny how they don’t mention that her daughter actually resides in Los Angeles the majority of the time. At least she’s not going to try and trot out DD photos in this. UGH once again.
haha. i love how much you hate amanda.
i find every single one of those photos average in the most average way. on the pitchfork scale, i give the book a 3.7
what a joke. both her and the book.
Just Goes to show you that “It’s not what you know…
It’s who you XXXXX” !!!!!!!!!!!!
One more thing,
Amanda certainly can afford the tuition so maybe she should
spend a few years at Parson’s before she tries to use that
camera again.
What a bunch of haters….
I love that Amanda creates…
If indeed this is the same Amanda DeCadenet who stars in the movie FALL by Eric Schaeffer, she should be IN the photographs, not taking them. See the movie if you haven’t- it’s worth it just for the fridge scene
~
PS- I don’t see you guys publishing any books of photographs, so you’d be well advised to stop criticizing people just because you CAN, and go do something productive with your lives.
