C’MON C’MON

so blurry why?

Showed up to the Fever/Von Bondies show last night despite having passed out at an art gallery opening hours before. As the room was spinning we said to ourselves, “No! Must go to show tonight!” One visit to Bellvue, a Sofia Coppola sighting (can that be right??), and a pitstop at Chat ‘n’ Chew and we were at the Bowery. Pictures fuzzier than memory (see above). At Bowery wondered when people started liking The Von Bondies (We think the show was sold out). All members left in one piece, and at least Marcie and Jason made it to the afterparty at Starfoods. As we were leaving we watched Carlos D play an arcade game that involved shooting alien spaceships or something.

HOLY CRAP, WHO LET THIS HAPPEN?

Ok, which one of you motherfuckers let this occur? We wish we had a graphic of the new SPIN cover to put up next to this. But we gotta say, we want to hear the new album. Today we referred to Craig as “Kurt” by accident in conversation. Sometimes we scare ourselves. Why does Craig Vines look like Julian Casablancas? RELATED LINK: Vintage Craig Vines

OK, EVEN WE COULDN’T HAVE PREDICTED THIS

Seriously, it’s painfully embarrasing how badly Ryan Adams wants to be Jack White…Like most of the time we’re kidding when we say he wants to be Jack, but you gotta admit, this is a tad bit creepy… RELATED LINKS: Awful Plastic Surgery

LINKS AND CRAP

There once was a time we Web surfed and crap like that. Here are some awesome links that reminded us what it was like to be into the Internet and stuff: Rock art from Is This It; Loads of downloads of musicians like Mum and Cat Power (link from Slatch); For Ultra: Check out the Rabbi’s Daughter collection; Battle of the Ugly Purple Drape-y Thing…Luckily someone gets it right; Hilary Duff: Has no ankles and looks like she has to take a pee; Beyonce on the cover of Rolling Stone; The Strokes and Lou Reed have drinks at Lit for Filter

THE MANY SUPERFICIAL FACES OF NEW YORK

Punk goes mainstream…again; Sex and the City‘s characters exemplify “artificial childlikeness, overlaid with irony–the essence of big-city sophistication” that was popular of New York stories in the ’30s and ’40s.

Remember when we used to go outside and see “concerts“? We’ve got some vague memories of that. In honor of those memories, we link to Jasper’s gallery of the lovely South.

Oh Joel, how we love you so. You and your pretty music. We remember last year… maybe it was in March (ED NOTE: March 28, 2003) or so, our friend Doug introduced us to Joel at Stellastarr* and Elefant at the Knitting Factory. South was in town doing… promo stuff for their new album…remixing the new album (?)… and we probably told Doug how we wanted to have Joel’s children or something. We can’t remember what we said to Joel, we probably screamed in his ear, started crying, or giggling, or vomiting, than we ran away. Oh memories!

WOAH, SONDRE OVERLOAD!

Sondre Lerche just saw Lost in Translation, and so did we. Sondre Lerche just released is new video for “Two Way Monologue” and we just watched it. We want to know why Sondre Lerche is so painfully cute. If you have the answer, please notify us. Also if you’re capable of cloning. Remember when I used to send Mike Vorrasi secret messages via the Internet?
