OK, the New York Times has officially gone blog-crazy. This time? Photoblogs. (Quarlo gets a mention.) Not once, but twice. We’re still waiting for the call on music blogs.

The recent shortage of venom over at the Anti-Hipster Forum perfectly proves what we’ve known all along — HEY GENIUS, IF YOU CAN’T STAND “HIPSTERS,” GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM THEM! This advice also goes to the people who find enough time in the day to complain about how much they hate trucker hats. HERE’S AN IDEA: IF YOU CAN’T STAND TRUCKER HATS, STOP HANGING AROUND PEOPLE WHO’D WEAR THEM. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, STOP POSTING TO OTHER WHINIES ON CRAIGSLIST ABOUT THEM.

If we made a list of all the things that annoyed us, including people, habits, fashion faux pas, words, animals, plants, time periods, presidents, candies, band names, we’d be a running series of whine. We’d probably sound like your mom. So shhhhhhhhh! It’s better for your health.

Anyone want to ask Tim from Ash to lay off the devil horn signs? We’ve kinda been there, done that. No wait — he’s so cute he can do whatever he wants!

Hey! What’s Heather Graham have that we don’t — besides a flopping movie career, a publicist, and really big boobs — that she’s making off with all the desirable “man-friends”? First Beck, now Johnny Knoxville. (Doesn’t he have a wife somewhere?)

Travelers Diagram describes it as the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players without the music — we describe it as good plain fun: Natalie and Her Lovers.

HEY WHAT THE FUCK? SINCE WHEN DOES JACK WHITE WORK WITH TRENDIES (Minus those times The White Stripes played with The Strokes) AND FUCKING NIKKA COSTA?

The horrible evidence (link from Beat Royalty):

Freeway: I like rock music a lot. I like Creed and P.O.D. When I’m in the studio, man, I like hot music. If somebody gives me a track and I’m feeling it when they put it on, I start rapping to it. I’m gonna make a song to it whether it’s rap music, classical, whatever. If I’m feeling it and can make a crazy flow to it and tell my story, than that’s a rap. I just did a rock ‘n’ roll song with Nikka Costa and Jack White from the White Stripes for Mark Ronson’s album. He put this song together and asked me if I wanted to do it. It’s called “The Fuzz.” The combination is crazy – it’s like he do that, she do that, and I rap.

Uh, you can also listen to “Good to Me” on the MTV Web site.

(IT’S OK TO WANT TO *BLEEP* US, WE’RE ON FIRE!)

40 HOT DOWNLOADS FROM ENGLAND’S WORSE-TOOTHED BAND
(AKA — PROOF WE’RE GETTING BACK ON TOP OF THINGS)

The Libertines
By now the world has witnessed that The Libertines are trying to present themselves as crazy motherf*ckers, or at least out-of-control drunkards, so no one will be surprised by the following:

In the last month or so The Libertines recorded what is now known as the Babyshambles Sessions – over 3 hours of previously un-heard Libertines material. On it are new songs, cover songs, unreleased song, etc.

But here’s the part of lunacy — Pete Libertines had decided to go about sharing these recordings with the world by giving the only version of the tracks to a girl he hardly knew, entrusting her with the task of keeping her word and sharing them with the fans. And girl was good on it and has since put all of the material up on the internet at Babyshambles.org. On it you’ll find surprises such as Rough Trade labelmate Adam Green’s version of “What A Waster,” and Libertines’ versions of The Coral’s “Dreaming of You,” and The Moldy Peaches’ “Who’s Got the Crack?”

The site had been down for some time, but now it’s back up. Other sites are hosting some of the mp3s as well. Play nice and be easy with the downloads! Links from Eyes Wide Open.
