The Music’s first full length album is scheduled for release September 2 on Hut.
The Vines are obsessed with N*E*R*D and want to work with the Neptunes.
Review: Ikara Colt @ King Tut’s in Glasgow.
From this week’s Popbitch: Celeb Look-a-likes. I got 15/16. Not bad.
From the Other Music mailout: Flavorpill. A SanFran/NYC listings thingy. Art, music, culture, blah blah blah. They sometimes have offers on club events and stuff like that.

Man. Something went funky with Blogger and no one was able to view the site for a while. Sorry about that.

Bands to Watch by Popmatters. I’ve seen The Liars and Matt Pond PA.. The Liars f*cking rock and Matt Pond PA did alright by me. Someone let me know what you think of the other recommendations. Don’t tell me about The Detatchment Kit- I already have my opinion on that one.
BTW- The Vines @ Bowery Ballroom sold out today. Oops. Guess I’m not going!
I can never resist a good laugh. Check out these NYC concert-going pics over at Slatch. Spot the emo lover!
GLONO asks International Noise Conspiracy way too many questions.
I found this really cool site by some dude with really good music taste… the only problem is it seems to be in Dutch and I have no freaking idea what he’s saying (It’s a dude, right? I’m just guessing by the layout). But judging from the few band names I can read, this guy seems to be with the up and up. A Moldy Peaches European Diary was linked from there. His buddy seems cool too. The only weird thing I noticed is that this site has the same Moldys post as the first site… but it was posted earlier… ::shrugs:: I dunno. I don’t speak Dutch. Someone else figure out what’s going on.
Ben Kweller on Letterman June 27… is that tomorrow… or are we being technical? It’s today. Well actually it is tomorrow, because the show starts on the 27th but he’ll go on after 12 midnight, so yeah, I was right- tomorrow.

Although it’s nowhere near Maxim‘s Guide to the North American Girls, know Your Guide To the North American Rock Critic. If you study it carefully, you just might save yourself long-winded conversation with some snively-nosed Indie Thug about Rainer Maria (let the thumb-sucking begin!). Find gems like this:
THE DIARISTFun Fact: There is the chance that some goofy-looking writer will babble about the boozed-up sexual escapades he had while a certain album you currently like played in the background. This will not only taint your impression of this album with unhealthy mental pictures, but also stain your soul with a blotch you will not be able to scrub off no matter how hard you try.
I’ll take time out of my busy blogging schedule to say this- This has happened to me quite a number of times… I’m going to refrain from mentioning the names of the bands and the songs which I can now no longer listen to, lest those people giving me funny looks the next time I see them, but have no doubt- anyone who has ever done this to me, THANK YOU FOR RUINING PERFECTLY GOOD MUSIC. Unless you’re Patrick Marber writing about the Buzzcocks, I really don’t want to know.
Also Anglophiles will love the London Bloggers- that’s right, as with their cooler NYC counterparts, you can now find some web geek by their tube stop. My old stomping ground was Tottenham Court Road.
Both links for the wonderful Travelers Diagram.

You’re AIM, probably the most popular instant messenger out there. The bad thing is that you’re run by a bunch of corporate assholes, but what isn’t nowadays?
Which IM are you? From the CP bb.

PHWOAR! I think I just fell in love with Chris again… not that I was ever out of love, but perhaps I just fell in lust. Do the words “bedroom” and “pin-up” have any meaning to you in this case? God bless Photoshop!

Tim & Chaz did an acoustic set at Newbury Comics last night to celebrate the US release of Free All Angels. Mowhawk-less Rick and pen-less DMH were in attendance.
There are some fantastic Hives and Star Spangles shots over at Michael’s. Take a gander.

This is a sorta cool idea… Mixmatch allows you to submit songs to a playlist and share your personal “make out” or “independence day” music with others. Not as cool as some other music-related web projects out there, but whatever… some of you might enjoy it.
