What the holy Swedish FUCK? Hives. MTV. $2 Bill.
Fred Durst. Andrew W.K. Kimya Dawson. Just your typical THIRD EYE BLIND album. Huh? Dude- Every single time I think of 3EB I can’t help but remember the time I heard Stephan Jenkins saying “I can make you a rockstar” to Cinjin from Remy Zero. It just will not go away.
Pete Yawn. Mountain man.

The new Eminem movie kinda looks good. I saw a trailer for it before “Mulholland Dr.”

Ed Harcourt 4eva. His hair is Ryan Adams meets Jack White. It’s beanie baby heaven. He wears brown pants and black shoes. There’s a white tiger puppet on the floor that he keeps kicking on. He has a bottle of red wine for the encore. He lifts up the keys. Bless his little English heart. Ed Harcourt 4eva.

I just watched “Mulholland Dr.” I think it’s going to take me a couple of weeks to figure it out.

NEIL DIAMOND FOREVER! FOREVER NYU! |
I got loads of other pictures developed… Like one of Craig David from LAST SUMMER! Hahaha. Also some dope pics of the Von Bondies, Phantom Planet, and other good times… London… etc. Yay pictures. Maybe one day you’ll see ‘em.
Jen and I finally got to see “About A Boy” today. It was HYSTERICAL… I abso-fucking-lutely loved it. Not only that, the kid sitting in front of us kept making funny noises, like burping and stuff and that was funny too. When he dropped all the Good ‘n’ Plenty on the floor, dad went “Hahahaha. Too bad!” HAhahaha. I fully recommend seeing the film. We LOVE Hugh Grant in it. His CLOTHES for god’s sake. God BLESS.
If you follow that link to the site, you can take the “How Cool Are You?” quiz. I love that one of the questions asks, “Which came first, the Strokes or the White Stripes.” DUH. But someone explain to me why David Gray is spelt “David Grey” and Jewel is spelt “Jewell.” What pop culture retard wrote that?

So far Winona on SNL is semi-amusing but not really funny. Moby played “South Side.” WTF? Totally old song, bro! Mo wore an “I HEART EMINEM” t-shirt in the Barney’s skit. How… ironic… I suppose. Mo also has a new design for his site. It looks nice.
I think I’m over my week of Moby hatred. I think he’s good live. I just hate that fucking video. Are you happy, Greg?
But of course, if it’s one thing we learned this week, it’s NEIL DIAMOND FOREVER!
I absolutely LOVE this poem by Jack Black that appears on page 38 of the new Spin:
The White Stripeswhite stripes
scorching punk metal blues
roasted my brains
the dude’s name is jack white
he is my arch-rival
there may be bloodshed
Ahem… Fab… Drew…. Us magazine. No comment. Also Strokes concert shots. From Izzy on the Hard to Explain mailing list.
Stop the celebrity reality television program phenomenon before it starts. For the love of god.
Oh fucking hell. The New York Times does ANOTHER “New York Is So Musically Hip” piece. Quotables from Miss Karen O and Mista Julian Casablancas. Name-checks the YYYs, The Strokes, Ex Models, The Walkmen, Oneida, The Rapture, Radio 4, Longwave,… and Ryan Gentles????? Also, parallels attempted with the Detroit music scene, throwing in The White Stripes and the Von Bondies. *Yawn* I also love how they get quotes from the soon-to-be defunct Brownies co-owner, Mike Stuto.
Word up to Left Siders- Amoeba Records makes it in the Right Side papers with their $200, 000 17 MP3 playing listening stations.
Tonight Jen and I were shut out of “About A Boy.” How sad. But I did see random people from high school, and one sketchy boy wearing a cap who we believe stole some DVD from Borders. Ah, good times.
I love Ben Kweller and I miss Coldplay.

God fucking damnit! Nick got to see Michael Pitt during the last week of school. I miss out on all the good stuff! I’d hoped to see him one final time, but alas- it was not meant to be. Instead I saw James Iha. Hahahaha.
The Strokes on Conan? Hmm.. “Soma” was sung. Jules was wearing a bizarre layered look and weird black electrical tape on his knees. No comment. Nick still needs to eat, Albert needs a hair cut, Fab looked vaguely like a “Mexican drug lord.” Was Niko the only normal one?

The Strokes on Conan tonight.
Last night Ewan was on Leno. He told a brilliant story about one time his arsehole came periously near a live theatre audience. Bless his little Scot heart.
There’s no doubt about it, George Orwell still kicks ass (This guy thinks so too). Also… Are Europeans ugly, close-minded, political retards? Links from Arts & Letters Daily.
Catherine linked to the Summerstage Concert schedule, which gave me a heartattack. SOUTH, CORNERSHOP, AND THE AVALANCES ON THE SAME DAY, SAME STAGE. After I woke up from blacking out, I immediately screamed “THIS IS GOING TO BE THE DOPEST SHOW EVER!” August 3 @ 3PM. Do NOT MISS IT! Also, N.E.R.D. burn it up June 22. On July 24 at 7PM you can catch Ethan Hawke…reading… from his new book…. Ash Wednesday. Beth Orton July 28 @ 3PM.
And in a surprising turn of events, The Moldy Peaches make an apperance during the festival- August 15 @ 7:00 PM ($10.00 Suggested Donation Event) with They Might Be Giants.
In reference to Catherine’s inquiry about John Mayer- His a freakin’ bore and a half. He makes Dave Matthews look like a musical genius. But he has a HUGE young female (and old creepy dude) fanbase. They’re real hardcore. That’s probably why it’s already sold out. And the final nail in the coffin would be that Elton John likes him, so there you go.
Expect a new Beck album this coming September. WohooO!
Mmmm… Black Rebel Motorcycle Club hit the Forum in London. Mmm. Sexy.

Last night Blogger was poo, so I didn’t get to update.
GRADUATION WAS AWESOME!
We had our all-University ceremony in Washington Square Park and it was totally rad. Seeing all the different schools file in, and then booing at them… well, at Stern… that was fun. Ok, there were a few times when SOMEONE might have shouted out to the Tischers “There’s your 15 minutes!” while the live broadcast cameras panned on them. You know, that’s what I just HEARD…
Harold Prince made a speech and reminded me that I’d actually seen Merrily We Roll Along while I was in London last year.
NEIL DIAMOND FUCKING ROCKS! He “wrote” us our very own school song and it was so horrible everyone was laughing and cheering. It was the best. It turned into a freaking rock concert. I was standing on my chair chanting “FOREVER NYU!!” Waving my NYU pom pom.
There were giant chants any time our school was mentioned, and a powerful “LJ” chant at the end of Jay Oliva’s speech. Also, toward the end, we joined in on his “This class, My class” schtick.
We all cheered for Star Wars: Episode 2 during the class speaker’s speech. WohOOO Ewan McGregor!
I took loads of pictures all this week, but my computer is all in boxes right now…
(Not to be nerdy about this or anything, but I’m pretty sure I saw Bryan come in with the Tischies.)
Later, when I was all de-graduationed, I saw James Iha walking along 2nd Avenue with Karen Elson. That’s the second Iha sighting in two weeks! Stop the Iha!
